Services
The JIA support group consists of parents, carers and families of children with JIA. We are supported by people who have grown up with JIA, friends, professionals, organisations and others who support a better quality of life for children with JIA and those around them.
We understand that JIA has many impacts. Some of those impacts are medical, there are financial impacts, time impacts, impacts on energy levels, impacts on relationships, and impacts to family and work life. Every family will be different, every child is different, and treatment can vary over time. JIA is not one illness but can take many forms, from severe to mild. Treatment may result in medical remission. At times JIA can be an invisible disability and that too can be difficult. You will not be expected to contribute, we understand how tough things can be. If you can contribute then you can do so on your own terms, because this is about support not burden.
We are here to assist each other with Advocacy where it is needed. This requires building informal and formal partnerships.
We are here to raise Awareness about JIA and what may be an invisible disability.
We are here to share Information and build supportive linkages.
We are here to provide an opportunity for Sharing, because sharing makes things easier at times, and can help others.
We are here to build resources for us all to raise money and opportunities through Charity.
We are here to Support each other.
